Salvatore Lombardo wins at Elkhart Lake |
(Elkhart Lake, 23rd January 2011) - The longest road race of the season was characterized by some very intense duels and also called for many sacrifice. The winner of the Sebring race Ralph Krause had a very hard fight for the lead with Jeffrey Hsu who looked for the safe winner for a long time until he became the victim of the barriers in the famous Canada Corner. With a clean race Lombardo inherited the lead which he successfully defended against Gary Borkenhagen. With very little fuel left in the tank Bill Krause got overtaken by John Cousland on the start / finish straightaway on the very last lap and drops back to fifth.

Calvin Whillier wins by 0.003 sec.! |
(Michigan, 9th January 2011) - The Michigan INDY 560K kept everything what it promised before the race: with a lot of side-by-side racing, a 128 green flag lap part (which are 248 miles!), just one caution, eleven lead changes and the closest finish in iamINDY.de history are just a few numbers to round this impressive race up. And the race ends with a surprising winner: Calvin Whillier wins, after he was almost lapped when the yellow came out, with a great comeback from the 21st position. Crossing the start finish line after 350 miles he got almost beaten by Daniel Olszewski. What an exciting race!

Indianapolis (05 DEC '10) - In a dramatic finish Shaun Stroud takes the win after 500 miles in front of an extremely fast John Paquin! Despite a last lap attack Paquin wasn’t able with his light damaged front wing to get by the Englishman Stroud. In the end both drivers where only separated by 0.085 sec. after 500 miles respectively 2 hours and 42 minutes. Also the other 31 drivers offered a very entertaining race with some very nice side-by-side attacks and even car contacts in the pits.
